What is TQM? Total Quality Management?

TQM?

Total Quality Management (TQM) is an enhancement to the traditional way of doing business. It is a proven technique to guarantee survival in world-class competition. Only by changing the action of management will the culture and actions of an entire organization be transformed. TQM is for the most part common sense. Analyzing the three words, we have

Total: Made up of the whole.
Quality: Degree of excellence a product or service provides.
Management: Act, art, or manner of handling, controlling, directing, etc.

Therefore, TQM is the art of managing the whole to achieve excellence. The Golden Rule is simple but effective way to explain it: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

In early days the business system is “Product-Oriented” but now its change into “Customer-oriented”.

      Basic Approach:
TQM requires six basic concepts:

    1.     A committed and involved management to provide long-term top-to-bottom organizational support.

    2.     An unwavering focus on the customer, both internally and externally.

    3.     Effective involvement and utilization of the entire work force.

    4.     Continuous improvement of the business and production process.

    5.     Treating suppliers as partners.

    6.        Establish performance measures for the processes.

       Benefits of TQM

The benefits of TQM are improved quality, employee participation, teamwork, working relationships, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, productivity, communication, profitability, and market share.

Acronyms
IR sensor:  A sensor which can sense infrared rays.
DTMF: DTMF or Dual tone multi frequency is a signaling system which uses a combination of two frequency tones to represent a key pressed on the keyboard of any cell phone.
RC5: An IC which uses key encryption and decryption as well as key expansion
TSOP: TSOP (Thin Small Outline Package) is an IC package, which acts like a receiver for receiving the coded IR signals.
Abstract
The world has been very fast in technology since last few years. In first many wired systems are used for transferring data or single, any wired system required a wire for transferring singles. As the world going fast in technology, in 1992 the infrared release, than Bluetooth, and FM radio this system is use for high frequency and finally a good improvement in technology, a wireless technology is released in which data can be transferred and shared wirelessly such as Wi-Fi system, now days this technology is being used everywhere. Modern countries have free Wi-Fi in their country everyone access Wi-Fi from everywhere, wireless technology has been really important in our daily life and is playing such a good role.
There are many things which can be implemented using wireless technology. So, having wireless technology this research report on a project named controlling robotic vehicle by TV remote. This project is a simple example of wireless technology. This research report about controlling robotic vehicle by TV remote, how the vehicle is working by a TV remote and remote will control every movement of vehicle using an 8051 microcontroller, IR sensor and TV remote to vehicle responsive, these things discuses in this research report.
Introduction
This project is created to control a robotic vehicle using a regular TV remote. Basically this project is a good for controlling a device by any other type of controlling device just like TV remote or Any Mobile phone. This project work by TV remote transferring signals to the robotic vehicle, when the instructions given from remote, robotic vehicle accepts the signals and perform the work what instructions are saying, This process is done using infrared system. Vehicle is a small robot which work with the TV remote and we do lot of our small works from this technology.

System Architecture
An IR sensor is fitted to the control unit of the robot for receiving IR signals sent out by the remote. Instructions given by remote are understood by the microcontroller and it moves the robot as instructed by remote for example forward, backward, left and right. An 8051 series microcontroller is used in this project for controlling the device. An RC5-based implied information sent from the TV remote is received by the IR receiver interfaced to the microcontroller. The microcontroller program refers to the RC5 code to produce relevant output based on the input data to activate motors through a motor-driver IC, as motors are interfaced to the control unit through the motor-driver IC.
Hardware Requirements
1.      IR Sensors
2.      8051 Series Microcontroller
3.      DC Motors
4.      Motor driver IC
5.      Crystal
6.      Resistors
7.      Capacitors
8.      Voltage Regulator
9.      Battery
10.  Robot Body
Advantages
i)                    You can carry very small loads by this.
ii)                  It may be used as a toy for children.
iii)                You can do your some works from this.
Disadvantages
i)                    It will stop working if any object interrupts the IR signals.
ii)                  It will not work from too far.
iii)                It costs a good price.
Future Work
Additionally, this mission can be improved by DTMF technology. With this technology, one can have power over robotic vehicle using one's cell phone. Not only can this but by improvements in hardware such as a light bodyand implemented hardware convert this project into controlling robotic helicopter (small drone) by TV remote.
